´I´ve been absolutely blown away by the fantastic work our team has done to make sure Habanero stayed on top´ - Vera Motto

(Italy, SoloAzar Exclusive).- Vera Motto, Business Development Executive at premium slots and table games provider Habanero, talked to SoloAzar about the current situation of the company and made an evaluation of 2020, considering the global situation due to Covid-19 pandemic.

´I´ve been absolutely blown away by the fantastic work our team has done to make sure Habanero stayed on top´ - Vera Motto

"Even though most slot developers saw an uptick in revenue, it wasn’t as large as some predicted.  Despite the hype emanating from certain quarters of our industry, RNG games didn’t fill the gap left by the pause on sporting fixtures. And when the live action did return, sports betting revenues returned to normal levels," said Motto.

"Looking to Colombia, we’re already seeing land-based casinos re-opening, which will stimulate growth. Such developments would cap a busy year for the territory, which cemented its position as the industry’s regional leader by regulating virtuals and live casino products in spite of the COVID-19 pandemic. The move was a boon to the national economy at the time when action was most urgently required – and local players are reaping the benefits," she added.

With regard to the commercial front, she remarked: "We’re still pressing ahead with licences, new market entries and operator partnerships in spite of the tough circumstances. This year has seen Habanero debut in Colombia, Germany, Romania and Estonia (to name just a few), and I expect plenty more to come in 2021!"

Finally, she commented the expectations and goals for next year: "We want to showcase that Habanero has now arrived on the scene as a truly established tier one supplier. This will be achieved by continuing to create gaming titles of a consistently high quality and maintaining this year’s impressive commercial momentum – a reputation that we’ve worked tirelessly to earn during 2020.

"In general terms, it will be great to see LatAm build on the excellent regulatory progress it has made this year. We hope that the success of regulation in Buenos Aires will provide a shining example for Argentina’s other provinces  to follow. I also expect other South American countries to emulate the approach of their neighbour by proactively helping land-based operators get online, which should be hugely beneficial to the local industry.

"On the global stage, we will be looking to cement on our leading position in Europe, where we are currently live in 14 regulated markets having proven ourselves as one of the continent’s most popular suppliers, thanks to the stellar work by our Head of European Business Development, Arcangelo Lonoce," she concluded.
